The Cappon family would like to inform our relatives and friends that a service to celebrate Ann Cappon’s life will be held on December 29th, 2016 at 11:30am at First Assembly Church. Prior, an Internment Service will be held at Edenbrook Memorial Gardens at 10:00 am and those who would like to come are invited. After the Celebration Service, relatives and friends are welcome to join the family for a luncheon and a time of remembrance in the First Assembly foyer. As Ann loved the color orange we ask that those who would like to and are able to, wear something orange. Either a little or a lot. Ann would have loved that.

Internment: December 29th, 2016 10:00am at Edenbrook Memorial Gardens

Celebrations Service: December 29th, 2016 11:30 First Assembly Church

Ann Cappon was born September 2, 1937 to Ari and Allegonda van Ham in Dordrecht, Netherlands. Ann passed away peacefully next to John, her husband, on the morning of December 20th, 2016 at home.

She was predeceased by no one except her parents. She was determined to get to Jesus first.

After marrying on February 4th, 1959, John and Ann moved to Canada from the Netherlands in March of that year. Settling in Calgary, they raised 5 children.

Ann's love for children was evident in her work as a preschool teacher, a school bus driver and a loving grandmother.

She spent much of her retirement volunteering at local charities such as the Operation Christmas Child, Calgary Dream Centre and World Serve, as well as in her church. She was always incredibly generous and loved to serve others with her gentle, strength and leadership.

Ann was very creative, and you could often find her sorting through piles of beads to create something special for someone. She enjoyed collecting nativity scenes, often setting them out at Christmas time and convincing her grandchildren to count them all, and taking great pleasure saying "you missed 4, I have 117".

She was a strong believer in including everyone, often inviting anyone who had nowhere to go over to join the family for Thanksgiving, or Christmas or any other occasion. This even extended to animals, and she had pets ranging from skunks to dogs in her home throughout her life.

Ann deeply loved her family, and raised all her children to have a snappy sense of humour and a life centered around their heavenly father. Although Ann will be dearly missed here on earth, we know she is celebrating with Jesus, whom she loved deeply.

Memorial donations in Ann's name may be made to WorldServe Thrift Store, 105 -58 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB T2H 0A4 (www.worldservethriftstore.ca)
