GERMAN, Anne Elizabeth

Anne German, beloved wife of Neil German of Calgary, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the age of 60 years.

She was the loving mother to Sara and Scott (Myrriah Huyton); and will also be remembered by her sisters Patty, Janice, Lori, Karen (Bill); and brother-in-law Blaine. She will never be forgotten by the rest of her family, Jeanette, Linda, Wayne and Mary Anne, and Lyle and Linda, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, whom she shared so many laughs with over her amazing life. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary Baird and sister Brenda.

Anne was born in Three Hills, Alberta and moved to Calgary after high school, where she married Neil and remained with him until her passing. They would go out weekly to local neighborhood spots for supper, take in the occasional theater show and had just recently purchased an RV with plans to do more travelling as Neil moved closer towards retirement. They remained in Calgary to raise their two children, Scott and Sara, who are very fortunate to have had her at home and very involved in their growth into adulthood. She was known to keep a very beautiful yard and garden, which went through many redesigns over the years as she was always trying to achieve something better than the year before. Her laugh could always be heard in a crowd and she truly relished in the time that she got to spend with her great nieces and nephews, as well as opening her home to certain animals that she was fond of when their owners were going to be away.

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to her, but we take comfort in knowing that she did not suffer in her final days, and took her last breath with her sister by her side, and her husband and children close by.

A Celebration of Anne’s Life will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Wednesday May 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.

To express condolences, please visit www.mountainviewmemorial.ca.
