It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the tragic and sudden passing of Caitlyn Gabrielle Blain, born September 30, 1992 and taken home to be at peace and rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 19, 2015 at Calgary, AB at the age of 22 years, beloved daughter of Darrin Blain (Laura) and Dorothy Armour nee Cameron (Clark). Besides her parents, Caitlyn will be sadly missed by her beloved sister Jessica Bailey; her grandmas: Helen Cameron, Mary Blain and Lois Wegren; her beloved dog Max and by her numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and teammates. She was predeceased by her great grandma Gladys Stark; grandpas Louis Blain and Dale Wegren and her cousin Kaz Andrews. Caitlyn had a very special relationship with her sister Jessica and her cousins Hilarie and Ray-Ray.
Caitlyn was passionately involved in sports of all kinds, with soccer being her ultimate passion, and led her teams to multiple championships from a very young age to her university team, the Ambrose Lions. She was awarded Athlete of the Year in grade 11 and Athlete of the Year for the ACAC and Ambrose Lions in 2015.
Caity could wake up at 8 AM and by noon tell you every sport statistic and highlight from TSN. She was a passionate Calgary Flames fan, known to yell at her television while supporting them. She was passionate about helping underprivileged children and their families and was employed last at Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch at Bragg Creek, AB. She was down to earth, non judgemental, had a genuine sweetness and integrity about her and her smile would light up the universe.
