<div itemprop="description">Charlotte Hawthorne, loving wife and aunt, passed away peacefully at the Beverly Centre Glenmore on Thursday at the age of 93 years. <br><br>Charlotte was born on a farm near Norton, NB. She met her husband Vic in Toronto in 1948, and they fell in love during an ice skating date the same evening. They were married in September, 1949 and resided in Toronto until 1969, when they moved to Calgary. Vic and Charlotte were proud residents of Brentwood and Bowness, and were long-time members of the Brentview Baptist Church. Charlotte was an avid ice skater, traveller, quilter and square dancer, and was particularly proud of square dancing with Vic in the 1988 Olympics Opening Ceremonies. She lovingly made more than 355 quilts in her life, which were treasured by her nieces and nephews. <br><br>Charlotte was predeceased in 2000 by her husband Victor. <br><br>A Celebration of Charlotte’s Life will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 100 Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. <br><br>In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Beverley Centre Glenmore (Cheques to be written to Beverly Auxiliary.
