<div itemprop="description">DURRER, Eugene Walter<br>November 23, 1922 - June 20, 2016<br><br>On the 20 June 2016, Eugene passed away peacefully in his sleep after a very brief illness. <br><br>Eugene ‘Gene’ was born in Didsbury, Alberta on November 23, 1922. Eugene served his country valiantly during World War II as a proud member of the 433 Skipton on Swale #6 Lancaster Bomber Group, Yorkshire, England. <br><br>His passion throughout life was fishing. Some folks said he had forgotten more about fishing than the most avid of fishermen would ever know. <br><br>Eugene was predeceased by his wife Olive in October of 2014. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Sharon Worthington (Randall), Ruth Durrer, mother of Chris; grandchildren Chris Durrer, Rebecca Okoye (Dr. John Okoye), Benjamin Worthington; great grand-children Kathleen, Olivia, Henry, Arianna, Arinze, Odera and Adalynne. Eugene is also survived by his son Richard Durrer. Over the last period of time in Eugene’s life, he had the great fortune to share time with a very dear lady, Rozaline Taylor. <br><br>The family would like to thank the health care providers at the place Eugene called his home, Sunrise Village, High River and those at the High River Hospital for the care Eugene received in his end time. Cremation has taken place. <br><br>At Eugene’s request, there will be no ceremony.
