<div itemprop="description"> <p> </p> <p> HEDGES - Frances Grace (nee Moen) </p> <p> March 13, 1913 - November 2, 2012 </p> <p> </p> <p> Frances Grace (nee Moen) Hedges, passed away Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, Alberta at 99 years of age. She was born on March 13, 1913 on the family farm in Yetwood AB (east of Vulcan), where she resided in the Reid Hill District and went to the Sunny Glen School. She also attended Mount Royal Collage for high school for a year or two. </p> <p> In 1941, Frances moved with her husband John (Jack) and son Roger to Calgary because there was work for John with the Canadian Pacific Railway. In September 1942, she had another child, Joan Yvonne. </p> <p> She was predeceased by her mother, Tillie Annette Moen in 1974; father Olaf Moen in 1961; husband John in 1981; siblings: Lloyd C. Moen in 1978; Evelyn Wilma Merrifield in 1984; Frank Moen in 199?; Gladys Laak in 2002; son-in-law Doug Moore in 1990; daughter Joan Yvonne Moore in 2007; and daughter-in-law Barbara Lynne Hedges in 2012. </p> <p> Frances is survived by her son Roger L. Hedges of Chestermere, Alberta; grandchildren: Cara (Dr. Kevin) Toth of Calgary, Alberta; Valerie (Wayne) Walcheske of Lethbridge, Alberta; Michael (Marguerite) Moore of Edmonton, Alberta; Daniel (Sherry) Moore of the Lethbridge area and seven great grandchildren. </p> <p> Frances was a Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and a dear friend to all who knew her. She was a very caring and sharing homemaker and was always looking for ways to help friends and relatives when she could. For a period of time (1950s-&rsquo;60s), she loved to work with the Order of the St. John&rsquo;s Ambulance Association of Canada. To occupy her time, she sewed and mended for all the kids along the way, was an excellent cook, liked to crochet and was always looking for any of us to bring books to read. </p> <p> &nbsp;A Memorial Service to celebrate Frances&rsquo; Life will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home with Reverend Jagdutt Singh presiding. </p> <p> &nbsp;Memorial Donations in Frances Hedges' name may be made directly to the Calgary Humane Society, S.P.C.A.
