<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joan Lovlin on February 6, 2017 at the age of 81 years.<br><br>Mom, Joan, Auntie Joan, Grandma Joanie will be forever remembered for the love of her family, her passion for music, and abounding energy for life. <br><br>She is survived by daughter Linda (Lovlin) Postlewaite and Scott Postlewaite, son Jarle Lovlin and Carol (Phillips) Lovlin, son Dwight Lovlin and Sarah (Cole) Lovlin, grandchildren Justin Postlewaite, Shelby Postlewaite, Kai Lovlin, Leif Lovlin, Njal Lovlin, and Hannah Lovlin, as well as numerous extended nieces, nephews, in-laws and out-laws. Joan is also survived by her wonderful twin sister, Jean (Bannman) Smith. <br><br>Joan was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years Joel, her brothers Bob, Don, and El, and sister Betty. <br><br>Born at the Gray Nun’s hospital in Regina Saskatchewan Joan graduated from Scott Collegiate High School in Regina then came to Calgary to attend SAIT and further her passion in fashion and design. At SAIT she met her husband Joel and soon began her family. Joan worked for many years at SAIT as a fashion and design instructor and then as a teacher with the Calgary Board of Education. In her personal time, she loved to hike with Joel in the mountains, cross country ski, sing in the many choirs they were involved with, and was known for pulling out her harmonica. Joan had a passion for travel, ranging from road trips to Saskatchewan, a cross-Canada trip with their tent trailer, visiting family in Norway, exploring the world on cruise ships, and vacationing in Australia. <br><br>The family would like to thank the Beverly Center Glenmore for their wonderful care, and family and friends for their warm condolences. <br><br>A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 – 100 Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm. <br><br>Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson Alberta 102, 5636 Burbank Crescent SE Calgary, AB T2H 1Z6 (www.parkinsonalberta.ca/make-a-donation).<br><br>To express condolences, please visit www.mountainviewmemorial.ca. <br><br><br></div>
