John Allan "Al" Yeomans

October 29, 1926 – February 2, 2016
With sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather on February 2, 2016.
John (Al as he was known to most) was born in Marengo, Saskatchewan on October 29, 1926 to Morley and Mary Jane (Minnie) Yeomans. Al tried his hand at several jobs before settling on employment with the City of Edmonton. It was during his early days with the city that he met and fell in love with his future bride, Kathleen Krytor. Al and Kay were married on October 30, 1954. He retired in 1982, as the supervisor of business tax and remained in Edmonton until 2015 when he and Kay moved to Strathmore, AB.
Al leaves behind his wife Kay, the love of his life of 61 years; daughter, Sandra (David) Janzen and their family Jennifer (Marty) McLean, Michael (Sherri Havig) Janzen; Edward (Eileen) Yeomans and their family Eric (Danielle Dugal) Yeomans, Ethan Yeomans; Russell (Darlene) Yeomans and their family Kelsey Yeomans, Marisa Yeomans; and four great grandchildren, Audrey and Lauren McLean, Isaiah Derrickson and Cody Janzen.
Al is predeceased by his father and mother; his brothers Eric, Stuart and Reg and sister Anna.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home, 1605 100 Street SE, Calgary, AB, on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to STARS or the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
