<div itemprop="description"><br />Rev. Lawrence (Lorne) H. Irwin was released into the arms of His Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on May 5, 2015. <br /> <br />He was born in LaVerne, California, February 24, 1925 to Lawrence and Lydia Irwin and grew up on a farm in the Arrowwood District. Lorne attended the Calgary Prophetic Institute which later became Berean Bible College. He later taught there for several years. While attending Bible College he met and married Kathleen I. Whiteside. They were blessed with children Lynda, Ronald, Janet, Philip and Rebecca. As a family they pastored in Rosebud, Red Deer, Clearbrook BC, High River, Moose Jaw SK, First Baptist Calgary, and Blackie. Lorne also served as an interim pastor in Calgary, Olds, and Lethbridge. Serving His Lord was his passion wherever he had opportunity. <br /> <br />Lorne is survived by his loving wife Kathleen of 67 years, as well as children Lynda (Chuck), Ron (Esther), Janet (Bob), Phil (Jacquie), Rebecca (Grant), 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He also leaves his sister Mildred of California and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, 8 siblings, grandson Stephen and granddaughter Bobbi Joelle. <br /> <br />A Graveside Service for family will be held at the Mountain View Memorial Gardens. The Memorial Service Celebrating Lorne&rsquo;s Life will be held at First Baptist Church, 1311 - 4th Street SW, Calgary on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. <br /> <br />A donation to the First Baptist Church Foundation or Gideon's International would be appreciated in lieu of flowers. <br /> <br />Special appreciation to Dr's Loewen, Smart and Saeed and the staff of Trinity Lodge and Rocky Ridge Retirement Community for their wonderful care and assistance. <br /> <br />To express condolences, please visit: www.mountainviewmemorial.ca. <br /></div>
