<div itemprop="description">Betty Bolinger passed away January 7, 2017 at the Prince of Peace Manor near Calgary at the age of 94 years. <br> <br>She was born at Ghost Pine Creek near Three Hills, Alberta on November 4, 1922 to parents Walter and Bessie Ticknor. Betty spent her early years on the family farm where she developed a lifelong love of nature, birds and animals. After graduating from Crescent Heights High School in Calgary, Betty attended Hepburn Business College excelling in calligraphy. While boarding in a home in Crescent Heights, Betty met her future husband, Mars Bolinger, who had rented the garage from her landlord. Married in 1943, Betty and Mars moved to a farm near Gleichen, Alberta in 1946 where they worked together as a team for sixty years. Their farm yard was a place of beauty admired by all. Betty's many talents included gardening, sewing and stitchery. Betty especially enjoyed her years as a soloist and a charter member of the Gleichen and District Community Choir. Her beautiful soprano voice, often singing the obbligato, along with her acting, costume and set design brought enjoyment to many. <br> <br>Betty was predeceased by her husband Mars in 2004, sister Marjorie Dau in 1982 and son John in 1958. <br> <br>Betty is survived by her children Susan (Allan) Bragg of Standard, Alberta, Robert (Gwen) Bolinger of Gleichen, Donna-May Bolinger (Colin) of Sydney, Australia and Allen (Cindy) Bolinger of Gleichen. Grandchildren include Ross and David Bragg (Lisa), Isaac Bolinger (Sylvia), Emily (Kyle) Corner and Andrew Bolinger (Karen), Benton Bolinger-Dunagan, Stephanie, Vanessa, Nathan and Cassandra Bolinger and great granddaughter Summer Aberdeen Corner. <br> <br>Funeral services will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 100 Street SE Calgary, AB) on January 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. <br> <br>If desired, memorial donations may be made to the War Amps 1 Maybrook Drive Scarborough, Ontario M1V 5K9 or www.waramps.ca. <br> <br>To express condolences, please visit www.mountainviewmemorial.ca <br></div>
