<div itemprop="description">Jim Hand, beloved husband of Ilene for 51 years, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 22, 2016 at the Agape Hospice at the age of 73 years. <br><br>He was born in Calgary, the last of ten children from Pearl and Herbert Hand. His love of cars started when he was young, buying his first car at 12 years. He then worked at GSL, and there he decided to become a mechanic, studying at SAIT. In 1969 Jim started working at AGT, which later became Telus. After 30 years, Jim retired in 1999. Jim loved doing family activities, camping, hiking, and horseshoes. Jim’s passion for vehicles included owning antique cars, and participating in and going to car shows. After retiring, Jim loved travelling south to Yuma, and golfing. <br><br>He was the loving father of Michelle (Paul), Darcy, and Lonny (Shaina), and loving grandfather of his seven grandchildren, Lukas, Caitlin, Alexandra, Brennan, Dylan, Maevie, and Mara. He is survived by siblings Lloyd, Norma, Leola, Maureen, Darlene (George), brother-in-law Len, and sister-in-law Lorna. <br><br>He was predeceased by his parents and the following siblings: Doug, Frank, Carmen, and Doris. <br><br>He was an amazing man that will be dearly missed by many family and friends.<br><br>A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 100 Street SE, Calgary, AB) on December 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. To express condolences, please visit www.mountainviewmemorial.ca <br></div>
