Patricia Ida Munro
July 29, 1943 - April 30, 2017
MUNRO, Patricia Ida (nee McConnell)
Pat Munro, beloved wife of Lorne Munro of Carseland, AB, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on April 30, 2017 at the age of 73 years.
Pat was the loving mother of Don (Lois) Munro of Indus, Brenda (Syd) Howlett of Calgary, and Shelly (Neil) Sylvester of Calgary. She will also be lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren Tamara (Kyle), Kyle (Jocelyn), Chris, Amanda, Jordan and Katelynn and by great grandkids Emalyn and Carter, and dearly missed by her sister Darlene, brother Terry, Uncle Harold and their families, and extended family, as well as many friends.
Pat was born in Neville, Sask., then at age 5 her family moved to Kimberley, B.C. She attended Business College in Calgary where she met Lorne. They married then moved to Indus and started their family. They soon moved to Carseland and expanded their family. “The Farm" and "The Flats” have been gathering places for family and friends ever since, due to Pat’s cooking and open door policy.
Pat was always quick to lend a hand, a shoulder, a meal or dessert. In recent years, her strength and tenacity shocked and challenged many doctors. Her absence will leave a huge hole in many people’s hearts and lives, especially her family and those who were considered family.
A Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home (1605-100 Street SE, Calgary) on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
