<div itemprop="description">Zittel, Ronald James <br /> <br />November 5, 1948 - November 7, 2013 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Zittel, Ronald James, family man, oil man, world traveller and gentle man fell asleep in the Lord in Regina SK, on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the tender age of 65. <br /> <br />He left too soon. And he left many who loved him dearly, especially his wife, Sonya Stockklausner, his children Christine (Clay) Harrington of Nagadoches , TX, Jennifer (Anthony) Zittel-Blandino of Katy, Texas, Robert (Gina) Zittel of Houston, TX and Katie-Sophia Zittel of Regina, SK; his grandchildren, Ashley, Mikey, Marcel, Serenity and Alice; and his brother John David (Sheila) Zittel of Bath, Maine. <br /> <br />Born in Lansing Michigan to Robert and Alice Zittel (Kahlor), both deceased, Ron spent most of his childhood years travelling the US with his family and being a science geek before finally settling down in Houston as a petrophysicist in the oil industry. Ron is remembered for his love of reading, warm fuzzy socks, ice cream (and flavour) and a growing appreciation of God. <br /> <br />In lieu of flowers please feel free to make a donation to any humanitarian charity of your choice. Ron had a particular respect for the work of The Mustard Seed of Calgary (www.theseed.ca), The Grameen Bank (www.grameen-info.org), and Hosanna Children (www.hosannachildren.ca). <br /> <br />For those wishing to pay their respects, Prayers will be held at Holy Martyr Peter the Aleut Orthodox Church (1939 33 Avenue SW, Calgary) on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Holy Martyr Peter the Aleut Orthodox Church on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Committal will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. <br /> <br />Arrangements entrusted to Mountain View Memorial Gardens &amp; Funeral Home, 1605 - 100 Street SE (GPS: 242013 - 100 Street SE), Calgary, AB (403) 272- 5555. <br /> <br /></div>
