MANDAIONE, Vincenzo
November 8, 1932 - February 26, 2016

With a heavy heart we announce that on Friday, February 26, 2016 our beloved father Vincenzo Mandaione passed peacefully to God.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Anna, his four children Olimpia (Francesco Lucente), Carmine (Nathalia), Lorenza (Paul Skurdal), Rosaria (Dean O'Bray); grandchildren Salvatore, Lydia, Evan, Anna, Sasha, Maximus, and Sabastian.

A beautiful soul has vanished from this earth on his journey to eternal life. Dad, we will forever honour your memory with love, grace and dignity.

Vincenzo was born November 8, 1932 in Monteforte, Italy, to Olimpia Pascale and Carmine Mandaione. He and the love of his life, Anna, were married on June 28, 1959. They immigrated to Germany in 1960 and then to Calgary in 1968 where they both labored to make a better life for themselves and their children. Our father was a carpenter by trade and worked for many years at The Westin Hotel, Calgary. He was an avid member of the Calgary Pioneer Auto Club as well as the Knights of Columbus. He and our mother loved to dance and enjoyed traveling to visit family in Argentina, California, England and Italy. He was predeceased by his sisters Filomena and Vincenza and numerous cousins and friends that were dear to him.

He was a loving father, always supporting his children in their endeavors. His wife, Anna, was his whole world and we know how hard it was for him to leave her. Our father was a generous and genuine friend to all, ready to lend a helping hand to any family or friend in need.

In lieu of a Prayer Service, friends and family are invited to pay their respects and join us for a viewing on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Mountain View Funeral Home, 1605-100 St. S.E., Calgary between 6:00 and 8:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Mary, Mother Of The Redeemer Catholic Church, 1714 - 14 Avenue NE, Calgary. Committal Service will follow at Queen's Park Mausoleum. Immediately following interment at Queen’s Park Cemetery, the family invites friends and family to a luncheon reception at Mary, Mother Of The Redeemer Catholic Church.

The family would like to thank Dr. Brandon, Dr. Friesen and the phenomenal nursing staff of Unit 93 at Rockyview Hospital. We are forever grateful for the compassionate, dignified care you provided for our father and our family.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for your thoughtful donation to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada (alzheimer.ca).

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.mountainviewmemorial.ca.
