Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep the morning of Saturday, May 6th , 2017 after an extended battle with numerous health issues. Harvey was a people person, a social butterfly who loved playing card games with family and friends be it Skipbo, Canasta, or Bud’s game. Other interests included actively following wrestling, curling, Canadian Football and hockey. Go, Oilers, Go !! Harvey’s proudest achievement was being married to his beloved Bernice for 59 years, having just celebrated that anniversary one month prior.

Harvey was the loving father of Debra (David) Hergenhein of Lyalta, AB, Wayne (Anita) McDonald of Calgary and Gail (Larry Jorginson) McDonald also of Calgary and will be dearly missed by his two grandchildren Derek and Dean Hergenhein. Harvey will also be remembered by his sister Margaret McGuire of St. Andrew’s, NB. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and John McDonald and three brothers Jack, Bernard and Richard McDonald. Our family would like to thank the staff at the Rockyview Hospital, Unit 93, for their wonderful care of dad, and for their appreciation of his daily quips.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 - 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Harvey’s Life will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society.
