Andrew (Andy) Adrian Vandersteen was born in Vught, Holland. Andy went to be with Jesus at the age of 87.
He was predeceased (2003) by his wife of 51 years, Helen. Andy is survived by his wife of 12 years, Millicent, his children Max (Leslie), Teresa (Duane), Doug (Karin) and his step children John (Karen), Sheila (Dave), Michael (Karen), 10 grandchildren and 6.5 great grandchildren.
Andy was a devout Catholic who loved and served his Savior in Pastoral, Palliative and Bereavement Care. In addition he served on Pastoral Council and he was a Eucharistic Minister. Andy was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and he attained the rank of Grand Knight.
Funeral services will be held at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church, 7103 - 20A St SE Calgary, AB, on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow.
If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Ogden House Senior Citizens Club (2102 - 69 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB T2C 3Y4).
